So you’ve got a shiny new website and CRM and you want to make sure the lead capture works. We do test the lead capture before deploying the site, but we also understand that people want to see for themselves. Plus it’s fun to see a lead appear in your CRM for the first time. All you have to do to test the lead capture is register on your site as a lead.

But wait! Don’t do that just yet! Sure, the lead capture will work. You’ll see Testy McTesterson, or whatever name you register under, in your CRM. But here’s the problem: “Testy McTesterson is back on your website.”

That’s what you’ll see in your inbox every time you go back to your website. There’s a technical term for that: “a pain in the butt”.

So here’s how to test your lead capture without having your website think -you- are a lead: Private browsing. Some browsers call it “Incognito mode” or “InPrivate browsing”. Private browsing disables storing web data like cookies, which is what triggers a back-on when a registered user logs onto your site.You can access Private browing mode right through your browser window. Usually you can find it in the “File” menu. Once you’re in a Private browsing window, feel free to test lead capture to your heart’s content!
